THE ROLE:
This position resides in the Material Evaluation and Specification Unit (MESU). The holders of these positions perform inspection and testing of materials and structures used in the construction of transportation facilities. Examples of duties associated with this position include:
Act as the working lead regarding hot mix asphalt (HMA) independent assurance and moisture susceptibility (TSR) testing
Coordinating and performing HMA dispute resolution testing
Maintaining the independent assurance program for HMA including in-situ evaluation of the HMA producer qualified sampling and testing personnel and the testing equipment
Monitoring HMA moisture susceptibility producer provided data and performing testing to validate those results
Assisting higher level employees with Balance Mix Design implementation testing
Assisting higher level employees in maintaining laboratory accreditation and monitoring compliance, analyzing producer-level test results, and interpreting/recommending revisions to contract specifications
Other related duties as assigned
POSITION HIGHLIGHTS:
Monday - Friday
Full-time (40 hours/week)
First shift
This position is eligible to apply for telework after successful completion of the working test period, and thereafter, in accordance with the Telework Policy. The Policy can be found here. Employees in their initial working test period must work on site.
