Senior Director, Program Impact & Learning
Position Overview
The Senior Director, Program Impact & Learning plays a key role in New Leaders progress towards our mission and 2025 strategic goals by leading the creation and management of structures for deep and collaborative meaning-making of how programs and all associated aspects of programmatic work (strategy, content, design, delivery) drive toward impact.
The Senior Director, Program Impact & Learning reports to the Senior Executive Director, Program Strategy & Operations and works closely with other members of the New Leaders Team to meaningfully measure and report on impact, facilitate learning, and lead cross-cutting learning projects to drive continual improvement.

Specific Responsibilities
Lead the organizationís Program Impact and Learning work by:
● Partnering with the SED, Program Strategy & Operations to develop the strategy for program learning, including both real-time inquiry cycles and long-term learning.
● Designing and managing systems to synthesize learning from across program data streams and projects to provide insights into program impact.
● Partnering with Assessment team to align strategies and practices for measuring impact.
● Identifying learning opportunities to build a stronger understanding of New Leadersí programs and impact and manage those recommendations through implementation.
● Providing timely and meaningful reports and updates.
Manage the work of measuring impact across programs (PK-12, Higher Ed and Alumni Impact) by:
● Deeply understanding New Leaders program strategy and offerings to determine (in partnership with SED, Program Strategy & Operations) strategies for data collection, reporting, analysis, and learning, including potential internal longitudinal analyses and external evaluations.
● Developing and executing evaluations plans for all programs to measure impact as defined in New Leadersí Annual Plan. This includes both individual contributions (e.g., completion of rigorous analysis) and project management of direct reportsí work.
● Coordinating across teams to enable analysis of program impact. This may include overseeing the work to develop tools (surveys, focus group questions, etc.) or refine metrics and calculations.
● Partnering with key internal stakeholders (e.g., Technology, Development, Program Implementation) to ensure data collection and reporting strategies are efficient and effective.
● Providing guidance on methods for incorporating an equity lens into all facets of impact and learning work.
Lead team operations by:
● Managing the daily systems and processes of the team for strong culture, collaboration, performance, and equity.
● Staying well-informed of evolving research and best practices for program learning and evaluation and bringing that knowledge to the team.
● Managing direct reports on the team as well as any consulting / partnership contracts.

● At least 7 Ė 10 years of professional experience required.
● Bachelorís degree required.
● Equity-driven with demonstrated ability to work well with people with a wide diversity of demographic and cultural characteristics; must be capable of achieving results while maintaining an inclusive, collaborative leadership style.
● A strong team leader with demonstrated skills in management and cross-team collaboration, and adept at leading multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
● Strong technical skills needed to lead impact evaluation using quantitative and qualitative methods, including the creation of models and the design of systems with appropriate indicators and data sources.
● Experience in the K-12 education sector, or a strong familiarity with the issues and challenges of K-12 education, particularly effective school leadership, a plus.
● Ability to develop, invest others in, plan and execute on a vision.
● Expertise in best practices of program evaluation and learning.
● Fluency with enterprise data management tools and systems, a plus.
● Commitment to using data and analyses to advance equity and keep the program team focused on impact.
● Excellent relationship management, customer service, and interpersonal abilities.
● Ability to work effectively with others at all levels of an organization and to consistently display a high level of professionalism in all interactions.
● Iterative, design-thinking approach to ongoing learning and improvement.
● Track record of managing technical and adaptive changes.

● Ability to learn new technology systems quickly and familiarity and comfort with analytic tools and data management systems.
● Must be able to travel 3-5 times annually (travel temporarily limited).
